Â鶹ÊÓƵ has appointed Timothy Pallone as interim director of athletic bands, entrusting the longtime music educator and proud Cardinal alumnus with leading The Showcase of Southeast Texas.
Pallone, a two-time graduate of Â鶹ÊÓƵ, has served as an instructor and coordinator of music programs in the Mary Morgan Moore Department of Music. In his new role, he will lead The Showcase of Southeast Texas and oversee all aspects of the university’s athletic band program, including performances at football games, campus events, and community engagements.
“I absolutely love teaching at Â鶹ÊÓƵ,” Pallone said. “Our students bring such excellence and excitement to our ensembles, my colleagues are brilliant and creative, and our administration is wholly supportive. The fact I have an opportunity to teach in this program is humbling and an opportunity I am honored to have.”
Pallone brings nearly 20 years of experience in music education and band leadership. Prior to joining the Lamar faculty, he served as director of bands and fine arts department chair at Iowa Colony High School in Alvin ISD, where he helped open the new campus and led its ensembles to their first UIL marching and concert awards. His public school teaching career also includes successful tenures in Fort Bend, Lumberton, Anahuac, and Port Neches-Groves ISDs.
He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education from Â鶹ÊÓƵ, where he was inducted into the Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society and awarded the Homer and Jane Walles Presidential Scholarship.
Pallone has also been active in regional music leadership, serving as Region Band Chairman for TMEA Region X, where he helped organize auditions, concerts, and festivals for student musicians across Southeast Texas.
His leadership is expected to bring continued momentum and creativity to one of the university’s most visible and spirited traditions.
